Role Purpose

  • The role holder is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the budgeting & billing related activities at the project site.
  • They support the Project Head, Director – Operations and the Budgeting & Billing team at the corporate office in the post-win and pre-design project budgeting exercise and then own the project budget till the closure of the project.
  • The incumbent validates the BOQ calculations as per design and acts as a second level review for validating the client and sub-contractor bills.
  • The incumbent acts as an escalation point for resolving all budgeting & billing related concerns for the project.
  • The role holder analyses any deviations from the finalized budget and raises concerns to the seniors.
  • The incumbent prepares certificate of payment, authorizes the bills and forwards them to accounts for release of payments.
  • The role holder supports the VP – Operations and the B&B team at Offices by overseeing the preparation of the documents for Change of Scope (CoS) and the client correspondence for the same.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Budgeting & Billing – Provide inputs to the Corporate Office during the development of the project budget. Undertake completion of all project budgeting activities as per the fixed timelines. Oversee the billing and collection process & execute cost planning related activities at the project site. Implement and enforce defined policies and procedures. Validate the BOQ calculation as per the design and contract. Validate bills for sub-contractors working on project site. Perform frequent physical validation of client and sub contractor bills based on the data captured in the RFI. Drive adherence to all defined SOPs and SLAs. Monitor the progress of the project and provide a second level analysis of budget vs actual. Support the VP – Operations, Project Head and the B&B team at Corporate Office by overseeing the preparation of the documents for Change of Scope (CoS) and the client correspondence for the same.
  •  Reporting – Capture accurate data in the SAP systems at the project site. Ensure adherence to standardized reporting mechanisms and defined timelines across project. Provide analytical insights to the seniors from the captured data analyzing budgeted vs actual progress of the project and facilitate teams in resolving budgeting & billing issues hindering the smooth execution of the project.
  • People Management – Facilitate development and growth of direct and indirect reportees while keeping track of overall employee engagement and attrition.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Graduate in engineering, preferably Post Graduation in equivalent specialized stream.
  • Min 8 yrs. in Planning & Billing function in construction projects of INR 500 cr+ value.
