Role Purpose
- The purpose of this role is to oversee the functioning of a sub-function like petroleum, spare parts, capex and others.
- The incumbent is responsible for connecting with the vendors of the sub-function for the procurement of specific goods and services for company use as well as supervising purchasing agents and buyers.
- The incumbent will seek the best available quality for the lowest price and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts and review product/service quality.
- The focus of this role lies on obtaining the best deal for the organisation for the specific goods and services at the lowest cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery & Process Control – Establish relationships with suppliers for the particular sub-function. Lead supplier evaluation, scout for better vendors, consultant selection and identify opportunities for process optimisation. Lead negotiations for advantageous costs, product with vendors/consultants as per the defined guidelines. Identify local suppliers based on set evaluation parameters for procurement of specific goods which is logistically and financially feasible. Conduct market analytics (price volatility and delivery system assessments) in order to identify best available market price for existing, ongoing, future projects. Resolve queries and concerns of functional/enabling teams and external suppliers providing administrative support to both for a particular sub- function.
- Vendor & Audit Management – Lead negotiations, propose contracts and formulate policies with local suppliers. Lead Audit interactions for the sub- function team, overseeing informationsupply,monitoringgoodsandservices.
- Operational Metrics & Reporting – Own the reporting dashboards for the management teams. Create and update the Organizational Procurement/ supplier management framework. Manage procurement operational metrics and catalogue the sourcing. Review the operational performance metrics and advise to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- People management – Identify overall resourcing and staffing requirements. Identify training needs for direct reports to ensure competency development across domain, industry and behavior and sign off engagement programs. Maintain a track of errors through statistical techniques and build experience database to aid team training and for reference purposes. Maintainand enhance the functionalexpertise for team basis regulatory/industrial offerings.
Indicative Experience and Exposure
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with 13-15 years experience in handling procurement functions
or
- B.Tech / M.Tech with 11-13 years experience in handling procurement function
- Experience in handling procurement functions at projects with a scope of around INR 1000 crore and above
