Role Purpose

The Procurement Expeditor will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of goods and materials by closely monitoring purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and resolving any delays or issues in the supply chain. This position plays a vital role in supporting operational efficiency and maintaining supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor purchase orders to ensure vendors and suppliers adhere to agreed delivery timelines and resolve delays promptly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding order status, shipping details, and lead times.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and shipment tracking.
  • Address discrepancies in shipments, such as shortages, damaged goods, or incorrect items, and work with suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure alignment on material needs and delivery expectations.
  • Prepare and present regular updates on order statuses, supplier performance, and any at-risk deliveries to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • The job involves 60% travel to supplier’s places and 40% at company’s corporate office.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Diploma or B.Tech. in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of experience in handling procurement and supplier expediting in a Power Transmission & Distribution company/ EPC contractor involving Tower, Conductor, Transformer, CT/ CVT/ PT/ LA/ Insulator/ Fitting, CRP/ SAS, PLCC/ FOTE etc.
  • Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
