Role Purpose

The role holder is responsible for implementing and supporting environmental sustainability initiatives, regulatory compliance, and ESG-related activities under the guidance of the HSE Head. This role ensures adherence to environmental policies, conducts risk assessments, coordinates impact assessments, and assists in ESG reporting and training. By collaborating with internal teams and regulatory bodies, the incumbent plays a key role in promoting sustainability, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring compliance with evolving environmental standards within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of environmental strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and standards across operations and projects.
  • Assist in the adoption of sustainability initiatives, such as renewable energy integration and water conservation programs, aligning with global best practices.
  • Conduct preliminary environmental risk assessments and support mitigation strategies to address potential impacts.
  • Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EAIA) in alignment with HSE directives, ensuring all projects are assessed before initiation.
  • Compile and analyze data in coordination with HR to support initiatives on employee diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), community engagement, etc.
  • Assist in developing frameworks for social impact data collection and ensure alignment with reporting standards.
  • Conduct routine checks to evaluate adherence to ESG commitments and report compliance gaps to the HSE Head.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance teams to monitor evolving ESG regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Support the implementation of ESG training programs across departments, ensuring employees understand and comply with environmental and social policies.
  • Assist in tracking ESG KPIs relevant to environmental and social responsibilities, ensuring performance monitoring aligns with business unit (BU) requirements.
  • Prepare initial reports for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to dashboards, presentations, and sustainability reports.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven as 3-5 years of experience in environmental and sustainability management within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with Scope 1, 2, 3 greenhouse gas emissions reporting and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP).
  • Certified ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor or equivalent certification
