Role Purpose
The incumbent will drive market intelligence and lead generation to identify, evaluate, and prioritize profitable opportunities that align with the BU’s strategic objectives. They will scout for tenders, analyze market trends, and engage with key stakeholders to develop a robust project pipeline. The role includes assisting in sourcing strategic partnerships and JVs, strengthening client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to support competitive bidding and ensure the successful acquisition of high-value projects.
Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis: Gather and analyze market intelligence, competitor activities, industry trends, and regulatory developments to identify growth opportunities and support strategic bid decisions through data-driven recommendations.
Lead Generation & Client Engagement: Drive client engagement, targeted outreach, and relationship-based lead generation to identify profitable opportunities and strengthen relationships with government and private sector stakeholders.
Pipeline Development: Develop and monitor a robust opportunity pipeline aligned with market trends, business priorities, and organizational capabilities.
Tender Sourcing: Lead tender identification and evaluation, ensuring timely sourcing, prioritization, and alignment with business capabilities while managing the tender sourcing team.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances while collaborating with internal functions to negotiate agreements and strengthen relationships with clients, government bodies, and business partners.
Costing & Tender Preparation: Coordinate tender documentation, cost estimates, cash flow projections, and competitive pricing strategies to prepare commercially viable and compliant bids.
Indicative Experience and Exposure
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA in Marketing, Energy Management, or Business Development is preferred.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in business development within renewable energy, power, EPC, or energy storage sectors.
