Role Purpose

The role bearer is responsible to support the Lead-BD and aid bid level decision making to ensure a timely and successful bid submission. Ensure timely execution of the cost feasibility studies and that their outcomes are shared with the relevant stakeholders. The role bearer is responsible to validate the documentation of all bids to ensure accuracy and ensures that all the bid level approvals are received. Ensure that all the bid level approvals are obtained on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and support the Head - Business Development (BD) in analyzing the selected business development opportunities through costing and cost feasibility studies.
  • Review the outcome of the cost feasibility study to ensure all the costing parameters are relevant and accounted for.
  • Ensure that a pre-approval bid price and a preliminary list of approvals required for the successful bid submission is prepared by the Bid Analysis and Costing team. Present the outcome to the BU Head in collaboration with the Lead BD and successfully arrive at a competitive bid price.
  • Understand the requirements as per the bid and guide the team on the approvals that may be needed. Ensure timely and accurate documentation as per bid qualification parameters.
  • Guide and review the creation of documents relevant for bid submission. Review the outcome of the feasibility study to ensure all the parameters are relevant and accounted for.
  • Prepare and review the bid document creation to ensure accuracy and timely submission. Ensure adherence to all SLAs and SOPs of the Business Development function.
  • Prepare and analyze the risk opportunity matrix for all bid and provide the analytics related to potential threats.
  • Prepare knowledge repository and ensure proper documentation of technical and functional specifications of past bidding process.
  • Create bid operational metrics and validate records of bids applied for, acceptance, rejection, bids won, bids lost (reasons for the loss).
  • Validate the analysis and trends and take appropriate actions to improve the bidding success rate.
  • Develop the capability of the team through training. Ensure proper engagement of the team to reduce the attrition.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5-9 years’ experience in Bidding.
  • B. Tech / M. Tech with 3-5 years’ experience in procurement.
  • Experience in handling bidding functions at projects with a scope of around INR 100-500 crore and above.
