Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to oversee the entire Accounts function. The role holder is responsible to oversee the various accounting activities and use of the most recent accounting standards in the preparation of financial statements. Responsible to provide P&L component wise analysis & suggest resource allocation to maximise EBIDTA.
Key Responsibilities
- Finalize the plan and schedule for accounting activities in the current financial year.
- Ensure compliance with the companies act and income tax act.
- Provide oversight to ensure that all accounting standards and Standard Operating Procedures are followed in preparing the financial statements.
- Identifying and preparing the Group for actions arising out of any changes in Accounting Practices.
- Provide guidance & oversee the preparation of quarterly projected balance sheet for accrued revenue & costing in the books and P&L component wise analysis & suggesting resource allocation to maximize EBIDTA.
- Supervise vendor payments, expense provisions for monthly P&L reporting, and other operating expense payments.
- Review accounts receivable (AR) aging, reconciliation, and creating bad debt provision for balance sheet preparation. Approving POs of value 1cr and above.
- Ensure month end closing for the P&L at the group level, ensure reconciliation and adjustment towards debt note/ credit note/TOD–Payable/receivable.
- Liaison with the internal and external audits team to facilitate the audit process by providing the necessary details required for an audit. Interacting with internal teams from purchase, stores and planning to ensure correct format (invoice, work orders, purchase orders, etc.) are being used.
- Review & validate of monthly financial statements (Balance sheets, P&L, cash flow, AR collections, Vendor Payments, etc.) for the purpose of reporting to the leadership team.
- Identify training needs for direct reports to ensure competency development across domain, industry and behaviour. Build experience database to aid team training. Maintain and enhance the functional expertise for team basis statutory offerings.
Indicative Experience and Exposure
- Chartered Accountant with 20-25 years of experience in management accounting.
- M. Com/ B. Com with 15 to 21 years/ 17 to 22 years of experience in management accounting.
