Role Purpose
- The purpose of this role is to research the market for potential subcontractors and do a comparative analysis.
- The role holder is responsible for negotiating the initial subcontract and create RFPs for subcontractors under the direction of GRIL management.
- They are responsible for managing highly complex subcontracts and maintain comprehensive documentation as per the policy and processes set by GRIL.
- The incumbent is responsible for creating framework for measuring the quality of work being done by existing subcontractors while ensuring contractual compliances and ensure that red flags are raised to the senior management at an appropriate timeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Subcontractor Development – Identify potential subcontractors for project works through the route of creating and floating RFPs. Create a potential framework for vetting the subcontractors as per the policies and processes of GRIL. Responsible for negotiating the initial subcontracts by partnering with Director – Operations with a focus on saving cost through analytical insights. Manage subcontracts of high complexity and high value. Be a key escalation point of contact for functional/enabling teams for any issues related to subcontractors.
- Subcontractor Management – Ensure that all subcontracts perform as per the set standards of GRIL and adhere to all SOPs and SLAs by collaborating with the project site team. Resolve subcontractor issues and act as an interface between the senior management at corporate office and teams based out of the project site.
- Reporting – Provide support on subcontractor management through accurate collection of data and mitigating risks which could lead to delay in execution. Collect information about potential and existing subcontractors as per the set parameters of GRIL and provide regular updates to VP – Procurement and Director – Operations.
- People management – Accountable for metrics like attrition, recruitment for team members. Maintain a track of errors through statistical techniques and build experience database to aid team training and for reference purposes. Maintain and enhance the functional expertise for team basis regulatory/industrial offerings.
Indicative Experience and Exposure
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with more than 13 years experience in subcontracting
or
- B.T ech / M.Tech with 5-8 years experience in subcontracting
- Experience in handling subcontracting functions at projects with a scope of INR 1000 crore +
