Role Purpose
The Project Controls sub vertical lead is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project planning, scheduling, performance tracking to ensure the successful execution of transmission and distribution projects. The role involves optimizing resource allocation and maintaining alignment with organizational goals. This position also ensures compliance with financial and contractual obligations while proactively addressing risks to maintain project timelines and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure monitoring of actual financial and operational performance against the AOP
- Oversee preparation of detailed project development reports and SOPs for scheduling, material conciliation, and billing reviews
- Design and maintain baseline schedules, work plans, and material requirement plans for PT&D projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project objectives
- Collaborate with Project Manager to allocate and optimize manpower, materials, and equipment across multiple projects
- Monitor progress against project schedules, perform impact analyses, and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate delays
- Monitor cost baselines for materials, and equipment, ensuring budget adherence while maintaining quality standards
- Establish robust systems to track expenses, identify variances, and maintain project budgets
- Review subcontractor and client bills, ensuring alignment with project milestones and contractual terms
- Work closely with finance teams to address billing issues in alignment with project timelines
- Ensure adherence policies and standards for material reconciliation processes across PT&D projects, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment with contractual scope
- maintain real-time dashboards to track project health metrics, including cost, time, and quality
- Prepare high-level management reports, ensuring alignment with BU and organizational priorities
Indicative Experience and Exposure
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/civil engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
- Master’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or Operations (preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in PT&D/EPC project planning, AOP development, and multi-project portfolio governance
- Strong proficiency in project planning and scheduling tools (Primavera P6/MS Project) and resource loading/leveling
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining material requirement plans across concurrent projects
