Role Purpose

  • The purpose of this role is to oversee the functioning of a cluster of store.
  • The incumbent is responsible for designing  and deploying an excellence framework to ensure  process  and  cost  optimization  in  order  to  manage  inventory  at  project  sites.
  • The  incumbent  along  his/her  team  is  further  responsible  for  auditing  the practices  at  various  stores  encompassing  the  product  maintenance  as  well  as  adherence  to  the  SOPs.
  • The role holder is also responsible for identifying opportunities to optimise inventory holding costs and reduce wastage or pilferage in the stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery & Process Control – Drive implementation of finalised systems at the project site by converting the framework into actionable steps. Drive adherence to SOPs and ensure adequate material accounting measures are in place. Audit material reconciliation and issuance processes to ensure cost and process optimization. Resolve queries and concerns of functional/enabling teams and external suppliers providing administrative support to both. Identify opportunities for optimizing inventory holding costs through mobilization to projects present in a geographical cluster. Explore on-ground implementation of just in time delivery methods to promote space optimization.
  • End user & Audit Management – Drive the audit interactions for stores monitoring goods received and goods moving out of the store. Validate the store records with physical inventory through an internal team/through the support of the internal audit team. Drive adherence towards standardisation across project sites in the area of inventory management.
  • Operational  Metrics  &  Reporting  – Capture accurate data and create reporting dashboards for the management teams. Create and update material mobilization framework which allows for cost optimisation. Manage mobilization and product maintenance operational metrics. Review the operational performance metrics and advise to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • People management – Ensure that all employee grievances are handled in an appropriate manner. Review the work of the junior team members providing guidance through training and on the job learning helping them focus on improvement areas.Drive capability building of the team across domain, industry and behaviour.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Graduate  and  Post  Graduate   in material  management  with 8-12 years experience in handling stores functions
  • Experience  in handling  store functions at  projects with a scope of  around  INR  1000 - 1500  crore
