Senior Executive

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to oversee the entire procurement function for the PT&D BU while managing control of procurement of high value capital intensive goods. The focus of this role is to establish guidelines and a framework for vendor creation, assessment, and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and analyze market trends for substation and transmission line projects.
• Ensure alignment of procurement activities with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and contractors for key materials and establish vendor partnerships to ensure cost-effective sourcing and timely delivery.
• Conduct vendor performance evaluations periodically to assess quality, delivery timelines, and overall service.
• Prepare and manage tender documents (RFPs, RFQs) for procurement of equipment and services
• Ensure effective inventory management for materials required for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Monitor and control procurement budgets to avoid cost overruns.
• Ensure compliance with local and international procurement standards, tax regulations, and environmental guidelines
• Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering skill development and performance excellence.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with 25+ years’ experience in handling procurement function
• B.Tech / M.Tech with 20+ years’ experience in handling procurement function
• Experience in handling the complete procurement function in PT&D industry.
