Senior Manager

Role Purpose

Incumbent will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement function for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role focuses on developing procurement strategies, sourcing key equipment and services, managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support project execution within budget, quality, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies and sourcing plans for BESS projects.
• Lead procurement of BESS equipment, electrical systems, Balance of Plant (BoP), and project-related services.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage OEMs, suppliers, and contractors to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and reliable delivery.
• Conduct RFQs/RFPs, techno-commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and purchase order finalization.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project, Quality, and Site teams to align procurement with project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, inspections, logistics, and material deliveries.
• Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, vendor development, value engineering, and alternate sourcing.
• Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks while ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable standards.
• Prepare procurement MIS, vendor performance reports, and support internal/external audits.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
• 8–15 years of procurement experience, with significant exposure to renewable energy, EPC, power, or BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of BESS equipment, electrical systems, techno-commercial procurement, contract management, and vendor negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
