Role Purpose

  • The role holder supports the project Heads in project planning and execution.
  • They are the designated project Heads during the latter’s absence.
  • The Incumbent is responsible for execution of a section of the project within defined timelines, in line  with defined quality/safety standards through efficient utilization  of people, material and machinery to optimize cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Performance – Facilitate the data requirements to aid the project manager in finalizing the scope of project in collaboration with senior management. Create a detailed work plan for the entire team identifying the sequence of activities needed to successfully complete the project, estimate resource requirements on a quarterly basis for their assigned section (human, equipment etc.) And raise requisitions along with their allocation to the identified activities. Evaluate the progress of the project on the basis of set objectives and measures and create mitigation measures wherever necessary. Align and work together with designated consultants to deliver quality work in the allocated section of the project. Responsible for production stocking, production management and labor management for their section of the project.
  • Project Delivery –Monitor progress of the project & execution of their section and identify any deviations from schedule. Ensure deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality. Evaluate  the outcomes of  the  section of  the  project  as per  expected  and actual at  all  stages  of  the  project  cycle. Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and managerial procedures. Review with department heads and look for most appropriate solutions to the prevailing concerns as per the project cycle. Ensure adherence to all SOPs set by GRIL corporate office.
  • Stakeholder Management – Create a buy-in with the client and relevant authorities to obtain necessary approvals. Handle conversations with the client and consultant for updates on on-ground execution. Apprise the Project Head and Director–Operations (on a need to know basis) of the progress of the project. Request support from relevant stakeholders to obtain necessary inputs.
  • MIS and Reporting – Resolve any issues related to specific section and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Ensure all project information, including cash flow, is properly documented and secured and reported. Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including senior management, on the progress of the project.
  • People Management – Facilitate development and growth of direct and indirect reportees while keeping track of overall project employee engagement and attrition. Handle employee grievances in the appropriate manner.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Graduate in (B.E./ B.Tech) Civil Engineering, preferably Post Graduation in Highway engineering.
  • Min 10 yrs. - In supervision of road projects, rail, metro high speed rail project.
