Role Purpose

  • The incumbent to this role drives the end-to-end planning and execution of multiple P&E setups while optimising costs, to ensure delivery in line with quality/safety standards  and  raise  red  flags  if  machinery  utilisation  falls  below  defined  standards,  while  liasoning  with  the  operations  team  and government  authorities  for necessary approvals and troubleshooting major issues at the project site.
  • The role holder is responsible for obtaining financial approvals, define all types of schedule for maintenance and manage manpower requirements. 
  • The  focus  is  on  driving  the  areas  of  P&E  performance  in  terms  of  cost,  quality  and  safety,  people management, liasoning with the stakeholders, and troubleshooting  major issues.
  • The incumbent is also expected to identify opportunities for process optimization based on ground realities.

Key Responsibilities

  • P&E Planning & Performance – Drive the scope for P&E finalised by the Head – P&E and the senior management. Define the work plan for the entire team which identify the sequence of activities needed to successfully complete all P&E activities at all project sites for the entire financial year. Define and obtain approval of the estimates and plans for  the  requirement  and  optimisation of resources-  time,  money,  manpower,  equipment  etc..  for the  entire  annual  cycle.  Identify opportunities for process  and  cost optimization based on ground realities. Evaluate the quality of products and services provided by OEMs and vendors and ensure GRIL standards are maintained.
  • P&E Operations – Review the system and equipment utilization and identify the underlying deviations from the SOPs. Ensure that procurements are on time within budget and at the required level of quality and safety. Ensure zero breakdowns of machinery. Review preventive maintenance logs. Liaison with the relevant authorities for necessary project approvals. Ensure adherence to all statutory compliance as well as SOPs set by GRIL corporate office. Manage spares and dead stock within the P&E function at the project sites.
  • Stakeholder Management & MIS reporting – Liaison with the internal customers and relevant government officials to acquire necessary approvals. Apprise  the team and senior  management  (Director – P&E and Head – P&E) about  the  progress  and request  support  for providing necessary  inputs for  smooth operational  execution. Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including senior managers in the organisation on the progress of the project. Monitor and review any deviation from SOPs and apprise the Senior Management.
  • People management – Facilitate development and growth of direct and indirect reportees while keeping track of overall team employee engagement and attrition. Ensure all the employee grievances are handled in the appropriate manner.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

  • Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical  with in handling construction projects

or

  • BE/B.Tech with 13-17  years experience  or  M.Tech  with 12-16 years  experience in handling construction projects
  • Experience  in  handling  Highway construction projects of INR 500cr  + value
